Thanks to all who have contacted us and committed to participating with us in Feb, in Guadalajara . As we stand, we have been unable to confirm a date for the training and hope to get something before the end of the year. I will let those who have committed and need to know asap of the plan after Jan 1.
We are still working on our Tecate mission in March, which is currently planned for the time period between March 21 and April 4th, and should have more info shortly.
Our Mission to Cullican is moving forward and we are arranging our shipment of equipment and have recently received an Ambulance which will be sent as well. We currently have 11 instructors and enterpreters lined up to go and is looking like an awsome event.
No word on Ayutla at this time and we believe our brother Jeff Hennessey from Chicago Fire may be going back to guanajato and could be looking for some help. We will let you know when we do. Thanks for keeping interest in what we are doing.

After several years using generously donated storage space in the Gig Harbor Area we are no longer going to have access to the space and are looking for alternatives. We had 2 10×10 units and are looking for similar space. We prefer in the Pac nw area even better close to our operations. We welcome any ideas. Thanks for the continued interest and folks signing up for our email and newsletters

The Seattle Fire Buffs Society, an organization that provides rehab services for the seattle Fire dept and surrounding area has donated a 1989 Dodge type 3 Ambulance to the cause. Thanks to Lisa Swenson from the Fire Buffs who contacted us for this donation.

Logistically organizing, repairing and refurbishing equipment in two states and with two locations to cashe them before shipping is quite a challenge. We have been working with several Oregon State Firefighters to put together a shipment to our friends in Culiacan in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. We hope to be able to make the call for the pickup sometime within the next month. Turnouts, helmets, gloves, hoods, boots, scbas, hose, nozzles, foam, extrication equipment and more await them from our two locations in Seattle and Portland. If you are near by in either location and would like to help contact us through the website. Thanks

Jeff Hennessey our brother from Chicago Fire Dept recently returned from the state of Guanajato where he has been carrying on a personal effort to help the firefighters in a small town he has grown to love. We were able to help get him some equipment to bring and they were very appreciative. He is trying to help them work on some of the safety issues we take for granted in our country and as we so often have experienced, it is taking time. He is looking for any help and you if interested he can be contacted through us. Just send a message we will forward to Jeff.

One of our goals is to work with and through other groups to help as many emergency workers as we can.
Recently, Jeff hennessey our Chicago Firefighter brother who has been visiting Guanajato in Mexico brought them equipment he was able to acquire from a department near him that contacted our website.
When we get a call for a donation and we are unable to pick it up or it can’t be shipped by the donor, we try to put the donation with those who we know nearby that can not only pick it up ,but be able to take it to their department they help outside the US. Through this network we hope to be able to get as much as we can into the hands of those who can use it. If you are thinking about donating be patient we will try to get it picked up in a timely manner. Thanks

As a result of our partnership with Hurst we have had a surge in interested Firefighters, Nurses and other emergency workers who are curious and wanting to help others in other countries. We have been working to add pages to the website to help answer those many questions that come up. For now our Blog will do the job. We currently have two trips planned already to Mexico in 2010 and are just about covered with instructors and enterpreters. We are looking though to add one or two others as we see the need. Keep checking the website and sign up for the newsletter to keep up to date. Thanks

We have received the Hurst equipment and are in planning for deployment. Our participation with Importadora Fabregat will include training symposiums initially in the State of Jalisco, MX and then beyond. We are taking interest for instructors to help with this endeavor. We need experienced trainers and those that could enterpret. Please contact us through the website. Include pertinent information.
We don’t know when just yet but we hope to give plenty of lead time. Instructors on a mission make their own way to the area we are training. Once in a while we get donations of stand by air fare and apply it to a mission, but once there we arrange for all amenities to be covered. Any expense incured by an instructor is tax deductible as a charitable donation. We would like to help with travel and some day maybe, but for now all our donated dollars go to the equipment and materials and transporting them to the reciever.

The 115 Hurst tools donated by Hurst Inc. are on their way…… A majority of the tools are enroute to Guadalajara to Importadora Fabregot where they will be made into complete sets.
We already have committments from knowledgeable and accomplished instructors from around the country to come together to begin the needed extrication training generated by these tools.
Contact us through the website if you have any questions or an interest to contribute to the effort.
We have taken possession of 4 LP10-c’s and they are going to be checked out and deployed in 2010. When deployed we will be looking to provide training in cpr, acls and ekg enterpretation.

Enrique Fabregat, president of Importadora Fabregat is in talks with the director of Protection Civil for the State of Jalisco, mx , The equivalent of a State Fire department much like Cal Fire in California. It is through this agency that we hope to get help to distribute the Hurst sets.
As our group, Firefighters Crossing Borders is contacting all the other groups we work with, we extend an open invitation to contact us to see if the area you are currently helping or would like to help outside the US is eligible to participate in this Hurst tool program,
Neither FFCB or its members are profiting from this deal other than greatly improving conditions in those areas that get a new set and training.
