Donated equipment reaches new area in Mexico

Equipment donated to FFCB and delivered to our current partners in the Northern Baja are being used and continuing to provide service to their communities. One of our goals at FFCB, when we initiate relationships, is to have those we departments we work with, help those around them when they can. We recently learned that the Tecate Fire department in keeping with our shared goals has made equpment available to several Departments in Mexico. During 2007 they donated gear and equipment to San Luis city Fd in the state of Sonora, Lapaz fd, and Gulfo Santa Clara fd. both on the Baja.

We know that Firefighters helping each other will always make more of an impact. We welcome all donations and will endeavor to get them in good working order to the firefighters that can use it.

The Team is off to Ayutla

As of the 20th of Feb, the first members of the joint training team are on the ground and setting up for the training of the Ayutla firefighters. Over the next several days the remaining instructors will arrive and get the job done.

One glitch encountered was that we were not able to get the engine and equipment down before going. Paul Wright from Tapfire has arranged to work with the neighboring city and they will have some fire equipment to train with. Once the engine and equipment get down ( possibly within the month) Joel and another team will go down to complete the training and make sure they are off and running!

When they can get to a computer our guys will let us know how things are going, stay tuned.
