Simultaneous Missions

2missions

Today two missions began to two of our areas of operation in Mexico. Jordan is on his way to Bay of Banderas to continue the work in establishing a emergency services group. He will hook up with Retired AC Brian Singleton and agencies in the area to continue the organization needed to move forward. Things are going great in that part of Mexico. Several fire stations and apparatus are in the works. Training continues as our group just returned last month from another successfull symposium. I know Jordan is planning on getting a team assembled for later this year.

Also, today Board of Directors Joel Schwarz, PM/LT and Scott Booth PM/LT began the annual driving mission from Tacoma Washington to Tecate/Tijuana in the Baja Mexico. They will meet up with training lead Board of Director Marcello DeCasas FF and local firefighters and emergency personel to put on a 4 day training symposium split in Tecate and Tijuana with attendees from several of the area departments.

Joel and Scott are currently hold up in Medford Or enroute to their next stop Sacramento.  On Tuesday the plan is to cross the border in the afternoon. Of the major topics we are introducing engine company quick rescue training for engine crews. We are bringing Tecate equipment to outfit their engines with rescue rope and hardware to be able to effect a low or medium angle rescue while waiting for the Rescate response. Just like with the extrication training, getting to a victim sooner and safely can make the difference.

Equipment we are bringing is donated by several departments and agencies in the northwest. Some hardware was purchased from funds raised and donated through efforts of many. As always any donation is used to provide the most needed equipment in the areas we are currently serving. Donations can be made through Paypal on this site. Come back to see where we get to later this week.
