2018 Sinaloa Fire Training Symposium (2)

on . Posted in General News & Announcements

Nine Firefighters Crossing Borders instructors arrived home safely from their recent mission to the capitol city of Culiacan to conduct the 10th Annual Sinaloa Fire
Training Symposium.

This year’s symposium took place January 22-24 bringing almost 90 firefighters and officers from around the state. This year’s symposium included urban search and rescue skills, propane fire control, forcible entry, and emergency vehicle driving and maintenance.

Hosted by Bomberos Culiacan and Bomberos Amigos since 2008, the symposium is also an excellent opportunity for firefighters and officers to network annually. FFCB instructors have enjoyed the incredible hospitality each year, reuniting with fellow firefighters and their families in Sinaloa annually.

This year’s lineup of instructors included Paul Spencer (Emergency Vehicle Technician) from Orcas Island, WA; Tim Frank (Lieutenant), John Cameron (Lieutenant), and Joaquin Hubbard (Firefighter) from Seattle Fire Dept., WA; Moi Castellon (Firefighter), Bronco Erickson (Firefighter/Rescue Technician), and Dave Stevens (Captain/Rescue Technician) from Snohomish County Fire District 1, WA; Edgar Tellez Ramirez (Firefighter/Paramedic) from Fon Du Loc Fire Department, WI, and Jordan Pollack (Chief) fromBreitenbush Fire Department, OR.

During the course of the year, FFCB is active assisting Bomberos Amigos and individual fire departments throughout Mexico with procuring equipment and vehicles from the United States and Canada. Numerous pallets of fully operational fire-rescue equipment, along with many emergency vehicles have been shipped from the US toward the States of Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Baja California del Sur and others to begin their next chapter of service.
