Busy January

on . Posted in General News & Announcements

Hello all and Happy New Year 2008. Well we are off to a running start. We have been busy collecting various donations from some friends and previous donors: Lummi Island, Wa , South Thurston, Wa , Gig Harbor, Wa , Key Penninsula, Wa. In addition we have several donations in the works. A work party on the 18th got us 6 participants from FFCB, Gig Harbor, and South Thurston. We went through our storage units preparing for our 2008 trips. That in another post.

We are looking at receiving a large number of MSA Air Paks and are in need of volunteers with the knowledge to test and recondition them. Between now and next year we hope to acquire over 200 paks. A new model for us we need to work on finding persons to help in any repairs and testing.

Recently we received two generous donations from two Fire Glove manufacturers. 107 pair from TechTrade LLC will enable us to deliver new gloves to two fire departments we work with in Mexico. The second donation of 32 new pair of fire gloves will go to Ayutla. As noted in previous posts, Ayutla is a town where we are working with other agencies to establish a new fire department. The Gloves will be their only new piece of PPE equipment.
