What Happens to Donated Equipment We Can't Use?

Everyone understands that not all equipment donated can be used again for those departments we help. We try to recycle where we can or find other uses. We found a use for some large Diameter hose that is no longer usable. Today, Firefighters Crossing Borders.org and Tapfire.org gathered unusable hose and donate it to North West Trek Animal Conservancy. At NW Trek you can find examples  of the animals of the NW in their natural habitat. The 7000 feet of hose donated will be used to help the animals stay active and healthy by being made into a variety of living aids. We got to see behind the scenes and saw first hand what the will be made from the hose. Check out some pics in the Donations folder in our Photo page.
