Firefighters of Sonora receive equipment.
Firefighters Crossing Borders donated much needed firefighting equipment to the Fire Chiefs Association of Sonora.
Our donation included a lot of turnouts, helmets, gloves, boots, SCBA's, hose, rescue and hazmat equipment along with medical supplies. This equipment came out of the FFCB Port Townsend warehouse and the Comox Rotary Club members from Canada transported it to Nogales USA.
Nogales Mexico firefighters assisted with importation of the equipment and moving it too the 2015 Fire Chiefs Association's convention in Caborca. The equipment was distributed to the States 25 fire departments.
José Maneul Hernández, fire chief of Nogales Mexico is also president of the Sonora Fire Chiefs Association. We'll continue working with Chief Hernández to support the firefighters of Sonora and Nogales fire department will assist our efforts to move equipment through Nogales to other project areas in Mexico.
Thanks to all that made this possible!
