Bomberos Unidos Launched
Firefighters Crossing Borders is proud to announce that one of our own, Captain Moi Castellon (South County Fire, WA) has launched his own non-profit organization to work with firefighters in Mexico.
Moi has coordinated the Sinaloa Fire Training Symposium for the past two years for Firefighters Crossing Borders and will now be taking under his new organization Bomberos Unidos not only the symposium but the State of Sinaloa and City of Tulum in the State of Quintana Roo. FFCB instructor Captain Dave Stevens (South County Fire, WA) has been working closely with Moi throughout, helping to develop their new organization.
Both recently were flown down to Tulum for a ceremony honoring them for their work procuring a new rescue squad for that department. Moi and Dave facilitated the delivery of the squad loaded with equipment and supplies in 2019, the vehicle donated by Woodinville Fire-Rescue (WA) procured by FFCB instructor MEVT Paul Spencer (Fire Fleet Maintenance, WA).
They have just completed the delivery process for a 1992 ladder truck for Bomberos Culiacan (Sinaloa). This apparatus donated by South County Fire (WA) will be replacing an aging ladder truck donated through Firefighters Crossing Borders in 2006.
Firefighters Crossing Borders will continue to support our brothers with equipment, vehicles, and any other support as needed, congratulations go out to all involved.
