Courtenay B.C. Supports

Protection Civil Nayarit, Mexico received a great little pickup that began the journey from Courtenay, B.C. Canada.   

The 2010 fire service pickup was a trade in at the local Chevrolet dealership and they donated it in 2019 to Courtenay FFCBs member Ryan Thorburn.  

The local Rotary Clubs of Strathcona Sunrise and Canadian Tire supported moving it down to Phoenix AZ.   The Rotary paid the insurance and gas and Canadian Tire donated new tires. 

Ryan and his friend Pat Lewis drove it to Phoenix fire who provided staging while Mexican importation permits were obtained.   The Covid Pandemic and permit issues delayed the final movement to Nayarit until August 20, 2021.   It now provides service to the people of Nayarit.
